PhD Course Structure: As a PhD student you will have to register for a minimum period of 3 years. This period is though reduced for some professional and vocational subjects. Although most colleges do not have an upper limit of the time taken for the completion of the course, however some colleges do impose a limit of 5 years for the completion of the course. This is to ensure a productive period for the students and also to ensure the optimum students-supervisor ratio.
